Reflections from Digital Media Manager, Liam Flint:
"It was safe to say that neither myself or Tom really knew what to expect as we touched down in Cairo, for AFCON 2019, the biggest Football tournament that the continent has to offer. Our goal was to report on all the happenings from the tournament, from the developing stories, to the match highlights, we were after it all! Our focus was the production of the 'Egyptian Dream' Podcast, a daily creation, aiming to bring some of the sights and sounds of Egypt to fans across Africa. With my love for football news and Tom's keen eye for culture, we had all the bases covered!'“
"Egypt is exploding with culture and we packed the Egyptian Dream podcast with features, reporting on different aspects of what you can find in Cairo, from the world-famous Cave Church, home to many Coptic Christians, to the bustling markets of Khan El-Khalili, where we tried our hands at some haggling! Reasonably successfully too, it must be said. Undoubtedly, the most memorable feature was when we visited the Pyramids of Giza, led around by our camels, Moses and Alexander. It was pretty breathtaking and we were able to educate our Football Africa listeners on some Ancient Egypt historical facts!”
