10 Aug: The Emirates Stadium

In the 10 August edition of  ‘WORLD COMES TO LONDON’ Steve Vickers and Solomon Ashoms are at the Emirate Stadium, the home of Arsenal football club. They were able to visit the stadium and stop in the dressing room, where the athletes had left their equipment. It’s a modern and striking stadium.

Planet sport is holding a contest. If you go to our homepage you will see a slide show. If you can name the sport being played, email us at hello@planetsport.tv with your answer.

Through out the show Steve Vickers and Solomon Ashmoms interview Jon Drummond about his transition from being an athlete to coaching the USA relay team. It’s been a great opportunity for Drummond and has enjoyed being able to encourage the team.

They also talk with Tyson Gay, who got 4th in the 100m final, and how he has handled being injured. They talk to Greg Rutherford from team GB and his success in winning a gold medal. He is pumped about the win, he looks forward to winning many more and getting even better at his event.

Idara Otu, who is at her first Olympics, is from Nigeria. She explains to us what inspires her to do her best at the Olympics. Aside from being inspired by athletes and hard working people, Otu says God is what she calls her “rock.” During her time at the Olympics He has shown her what she can do with her talents. This pushes her to do her best at the Olympics.

The show ends with an interview of the Director of the Foundling Museum and the history of their hospital.
